AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that defies conventional expectations, the game developer has revealed an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Adventure Revealed
According to the formal announcement, "A strange confrontation pulls protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous changes echo through the obscurity." The plot features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden sect.
The adventure focuses on "peculiar trials and a terrifying enemy" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer concludes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several artifacts hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's third free story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature abilities: Naoe debuts a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-lethal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
